Profiles - Sarah Thomas
Sarah is best known for playing ‘Glenda’ in
the hugely successful BBC comedy series LAST OF THE SUMMER
WINE.
She trained at Rose Bruford and has appeared in theatres
throughout the country including Bath, Bristol, Leeds, Sheffield,
Leatherhead, Farnham, York, Crewe, Chesterfled and Cheltenham
where leading roles included ‘Juliet’, ‘Ophelia’ in HAMLET, ‘Annie’ in THE NORMAN CONQUESTS, ‘Honey’ in WHOSE AFRAID
OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, ‘Cecily’ in THE IMPORTANCE
OF BEING EARNEST, ‘Nina’ in THE SEAGULL, ‘Peggy’ in THE GHOST
TRAIN, ‘Annie’ in ASHES, ‘Araminta’ in THE
PHILANTHROPIST, ‘Mrs.Piper’ in BUSYBODY, ‘Raina’ in ARMS
AND THE MAN and ‘Ruby’ in WHEN WE ARE
MARRIED.
Sarah’s National Tours include ‘Mrs. Danvers’ in REBECCA, ‘Mrs.
Prentice’ in WHAT THE BUTLER SAW, ‘Daphne’ in PERFECT
WEDDING and ‘Celia’ in HOLIDAY SNAP.
Sarah has also played in the musicals CABARET and JOSEPH and
regularly appears in pantomime.
She recently appeared in the London premieres of DEAR
MR. KENNEDY and BEING OLIVIA.
Television includes MOSES for American TV, HEARTBEAT, SHROUD FOR A
NIGHTINGALE, BLACKADDER, MIRACLES TAKE LONGER, TOGETHER, CLIVE ANDERSON TALKS BACK, HAPPY FAMILIES, THE BILL, DEATH IN DEVON, RUMPOLE OF THE BAILEY, AUNTIE’S NIECE and
