ANDY COLLYER – Musical Director

This is Andy’s fifth year as MD at Grays for Bruce James, so hopefully, he’s now got the hang of it! He’s worked as MD on Bruce James productions in the West Country at the Weston-Super-Mare Playhouse [THE JUNGLE BOOK, SLEEPING BEAUTY, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, TREASURE ISLAND] and at the Octagon Theatre Summer School for the last four years as well as a tour of LAUREL & HARDY and as musical arranger of incidental music for Bruce’s non-musical shows.

Andy also works at Masters Performing Arts College in Rayleigh as the resident Musical Director and lecturer of Musical Theatre and Musical Theatre Repertoire.

As a sideline, he writes for Rhinegold Publications, mostly textbooks for students of Music Technology A-Level (for which he is an examiner) and articles for ‘Music Teacher’ magazine, and has been a consultant for several books for ‘Peters Editions’.

He is currently working on new ways of saying “it’s a draw”, his one and only foray into thespianism during the year!
