Kim grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon. After a year as a student
ASM at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, she trained at the
Webber Douglas Academy, London.
Her early work took her to the Chichester Festival Theatre, Harrogate, TheBristol
Old Vic and the Redgrave Theatre, Farnham playing ‘Rita’ in BILLY LIAR, ‘Margaret’ in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, ‘Sorrel’ in HAY FEVER, ‘Doonyasha’ in THE CHERRY ORCHARD, ‘Alice
Hobson’ in HOBSON’S CHOICE, Shaw's ST JOAN, ‘Mary
Yellen’ in JAMAICA INN, ‘Alys’ in ABELARD AND LOUISE.
Kim played Helga in all 96 episodes of the BBC comedy ‘ALLO ‘ALLO and
the ‘ALLO ‘ALLO stage show which toured the UK, Australia
and New Zealand as well as playing for two years in the West End at the Prince
Of Wales Theatre and the London Palladium.
She can be currently seen on TV as ‘Mrs Rawlinson’ the eccentric
Science Teacher in GRANGE HILL.
She co-produced the thriller DOUBLE DOUBLE in which she played ‘Phillipa
James’. This production opened at Farnham and toured nationally. Kim then
returned to New Zealand to play ‘Jacqueline’ in DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER returning
to the UK to take over the role for a year at the Duchess Theatre in the West
End.
Last year Kim toured Singapore and Kuala Lumpur as the lead ‘Jean’ in
FUNNY MONEY and earlier that year she played ‘Bridget’ in Amy Rosenthal's
new play SITTING PRETTY preceded by ‘Alison’ in
the sell out UK tour of MUMS THE WORD.
Other theatre credits include: ‘Vicky’ in MY FAT FRIEND; ‘Margaret’ in MY MOTHER
SAID I NEVER SHOULD; ‘Vera’ in STEPPING OUT; ‘Sheila’ in
RELATIVELY SPEAKING; ‘Helen’ in BEDSIDE MANNERS; ‘Judith
Bliss’ in HAY FEVER; ‘Jane’ in KILLING TIME; ‘Morgana’ in
the musical BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and ‘Sarah’ in TABLE MANNERS.
She has toured the Far and Middle East with MOVE OVER MRS. MARKHAM and THE MAINTENANCE MAN and
spent four months in New Zealand playing ‘Josie’ in STEAMING.
As well as ‘ALLO ‘ALLO, TV Credits include: MISS JONES AND SON; THE KELLY MONTIETH SHOW; THE PEDDLER; COMEDY PLAYHOUSE; THE BRITTAS EMPIRE; CASUALTY and 15 STOREYS HIGH.
Kim has appeared in numerous television Talk and Quiz shows, Radio drama and
Pantomimes playing anything from Principal Boy to Evil Witch.
Directing credits include: A JOVIAL CREW; COMEDY OF ERRORS; HENRY V and THE
CHERRY ORCHARD.
She is a co-founder and Director of the production company Quinton Arts.
