Profiles - Nick Barclay

Nick trained at Mountview Theatre School and in the thirty something years since he played ‘Mr. Strong’ in the school play, Nick has appeared in over 170 professional productions. Favourite parts include ‘Maxim’ in REBECCA,’ Jimmy’ in LOOK BACK IN ANGER, ‘Milo’in SLEUTH and ‘Algernon’in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST.

Musical Credits include parts in GUYS AND DOLLS, OKLAHOMA!, CRAZY FOR YOU, CITY OF ANGELS, SEVEN BRIDEDS FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

The last few years have seen Nick travel the world, touring the middle east and Singapore with a highly successful productions of STONES IN HIS POCKETS (playing ‘Jake’) and also a critically acclaimed tour of ART (playing ‘Marc’). He has just returned from Dubai, appearing as ‘Elyot’ in PRIVATE LIVES.

Last summer Nick completed his fifth summer rep season at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton. Parts included ‘Roat’in WAIT UNTIL DARK, ‘Lawrence’ in ABIGAIL’S PARTY and ‘Norman’ in ROUND AND ROUND THE GARDEN. Previous parts have included, ‘Dr. Goertler’in I HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE, ‘Otto’ in DESIGN FOR LIVING and ‘Sebastian’ in IN PRAISE OF LOVE.

Nick has also directed productions of THE MURDER GAME, GASLIGHT and EDUCATING RITA.A much sought after panto villain, Nick has appeared in over 14 pantomimes playing such evil genius as ‘Abanazer’, ‘King Rat’and ‘Fleshcreep’.

Nick was born in Watford and is fervent Hornets fan. He lives out of suitcase and his hobbies include going grey.
