Profiles - Eric Potts
Eric trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School from
1984 – 87. He has appeared at most of the country’s
top repertory theatres and touring venues.

Recent television work includes THE ROVER’S RETURN PUB QUIZ -
ITV Play; DOCTOR WHO; BURN IT; LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE; END OF THE LINE & NODDY LIVE all
for the BBC, THE ROYAL; HEARTBEAT; WILMOT and STEEL
RIVER BLUES all for Yorkshire Television. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS; THE SMITHS and SPRINGHILL for
Granada. SQUARE DEAL (LWT), PEAK PRACTICE (Carlton; BROOKSIDE (Mersey
TV) and CHASING RAINBOWS (Channel 4). It
is for his portrayal of baker; ‘Diggory Compton’ in CORONATION STREET that
Eric is best known.
A much in demand pantomime dame, Eric has spent the last
10 festive seasons appearing in; Oldham, Nottingham, Crewe,
Canterbury or Stoke, regularly taking on the additional roles
of writer and director.
Eric is delighted to be joining the Bruce James Company
in this, one of his favourite comedies.
