George is a co-founder of C19th Actors, for whom he played ‘Jack Worthing’ in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, ‘Jack Chesney’ in CHARLEY’S AUNT and ‘Tony Lumpkin’ in SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER, as well as directing HAY FEVER all at Gawsworth Hall Open Air Theatre in Cheshire. He attained notoriety in the DR. WHO world, having played leading villain ‘Graham Winslet’ in the trilogy of AUTON Films.

In 2002 George played ‘Richard Burton’ in a one-man play called PLAYING BURTON, receiving five 4-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - including “Burton is meticulously portrayed” The Herald, and ”A coruscating and brilliant piece of drama” The Scotsman. During 2003 he wrote a one-man play about Sir John Gielgud, GIELGUD – A KNIGHT IN THE THEATRE, which toured arts centres and then played at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe to considerable critical acclaim, including “I lapped it up with pleasure" Charles Spencer, The Daily Telegraph, and “Don’t miss” The Independent. Later that year he played ‘Krapp’ in KRAPP’S LAST TAPE and appeared in a new play FILTH, at the St Ives Festival. Other recent theatre includes ‘Molina’ in KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN, ‘Briggs’ in OUR DAY OUT, ‘Jason’ in ROMANTIC COMEDY and ‘Davies’ in THE CARETAKER.

After Mother Goose last year George stayed at the Pomegranate playing ‘Henry Miles’ in THE END OF THE AFFAIR, ‘Archie’ in JUMPERS and ‘Mr Topkiss’ in John Goodrum's ONE FLING AFTER ANOTHER before appearing in SIXTEEN SONOROUS STONES at the Bridewell Theatre in London. He then spent some time writing a new one-man play about Richard Burton, BURTON’S LAST CALL, for which he was nominated for both Best Actor and Best New Writing at Buxton Festival. He toured during the autumn with both BURTON’S LAST CALL, and AUDIENCE WITH MURDER for Bruce James Productions.

Once again, he is thoroughly looking forward to being hissed and booed here in Chesterfield this Christmas, whilst keeping up regular training for his third London Marathon! George is running this time for Whizz-Kidz, a charity which provides customised mobility equipment for children, and has committed to raising £1500…..any contributions very welcome!!
