Profiles - Lucinda Rhodes Flaherty

  Lucinda Rhodes Flaherty

A scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School and a year at Ravenscourt Theatre School made Lucinda certain she wanted a career in show business. After finishing her training she won a role in the TV series SISTER SAID. The director Daniel Peacock went on to create the cult teen comedy HARRY AND COSH in which Lucinda played Harry’s girlfriend ‘Lucinda’. The show ran for four series and is her favourite role to date. During this time Lucinda also appeared in other shows such as THE CORE and NIGHT FEVER on the celebrity panel alongside Suggs from Madness and Kerry Katona.

When HARRY AND COSH finally came to an end Lucinda went straight into BBC One’s children’s show CAVEGIRL taking the role of ‘Big Sis’ working with the same director, and many of the cast of HARRY AND COSH, and filming in beautiful South Africa made this the happiest location so far .

In between acting, Lucinda has still had time to appear alongside some great pop acts such as Kylie Minogue SPINNING AROUND; S Club 7 DON’T STOP MOVING; Craig David RENDEZVOUS and ALL THE WAY; Roll Deep SHAKE A LEG; Billie Piper SHE WANTS YOU and Geri Halliwell RAINING MEN.

Not content with dancing for others she went on to tour with her own band Blayze supporting acts like Liberty X and Blazing Squad. Lucinda has also recorded her own albums one for the soundtrack of HARRY AND COSH and has toured as a solo artist at big stadiums like West Ham Utd, Leeds Rhinos and Southend Utd football ground.

After an insight into the music industry Lucinda decided her heart was with acting and she went on to take her first adult role as the Manager’s daughter and footballer’s wife ‘Jodie Stone’ in Sky One’s football drama DREAM TEAM. During this time she also took time out to guest appear in some of her favourite childrens shows ‘MY PARENTS ARE ALIENS, KERCHING, THE SATURDAY SHOW, MYSTY SHOW and SMILE.

Lucinda then decided after eight years in television she would now go back to her early love of the stage. Roles she has played include ‘Gail’ in John Godber’s TEECHERS, ‘Lady Macbeth’ in MACBETH, ‘Audrey’ in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Lucinda’s favourite time of year is pantomime season and she has played ‘Sophie Muddles’ in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, ‘Tiger Lily’ in PETER PAN , and for the last 2 years she has played the title role in CINDERELLA alongside television favourites such as Tim Healy, Vicki Michelle, Christopher Biggins, Micheal Starke, Jean Boht and Jimmy Cricket.

When Lucinda is not filming she supports various charities and takes part in celebrity football matches for soccer six to help raise money for worthy causes.

Lucinda is now looking forward to taking the role of ‘Yvette’ in ‘ALLOALLO to do her first national tour. She hopes you enjoy it just as much as she will and wishes the rest of the cast a happy season.
